    He creats such a new pulsation among the soura of Gunupur region that his fellowmen thought as if he was an angel,  who saved a declining primitive society. It is true that he is no more today, but following his teachings. Many  souras became educated and gave up slaughtering of animal and  drinking of country liquor to build up a healthy and environment.
        The creator of the sora script , mangai gomango was not a linguist. Being born in an ordinary soura family, he left such an invaluable asset to his community that, he shall be remembered for all time to come. Some errors are there in this script , but looking from the angle of phonetic theory, it is not totally unscientific. According to the linguist, Dr. Khageswar Mahapatra. “ it is not only a script but also a symbol of spiritual, social & cultural awakening of the soura community in total “ none but mongel deserves all the credit for this.
          S.p. Mangai Gomango gives the following statements. Regarding the origin of the script
       The savara people used to worship ‘ Daru – Brahma’ ( Woodden of God) But  when lallta (The savara princes) falling in love with a Brahmin ravealed tohim the secrets of the worship, the Brahmin won over the lord. The lord vanlshed and no more responded to the preyars of the savara people. Then the savara sald , ‘wonderful’ ,you don’t ‘llsten to me, you don’t respond to me. But you listen to the Brahmin , who is an out slder. Alright , I say, form today I will offer you only blood and liquor. When you come back again to us and teach us to be wise and good , we will worship you then only with due sanctity . ‘The savara people took a resolution like that and sine then were sacrificing cocks

goats, buffaloes and humanbeings too at the rltuals.  They   worship ,pay obeisance, and then pour down blood and liquor on the dalty’s head . However , after many days , at the end of the Aga of kall, the lord came back and said ,’ now I have came to you ,not as Daru Brahma, but as ‘Akshara Brahma ‘  (Alphabetic image of god), you worship me in this from, I will be visible on the matter banom vijyana ‘ hills’ . This savara then went and saw. The twenty four letters appeared in his vision. Then a shrine was built on that site and the worship of the ‘Akshara Brahma’ commanced from that day.
      
 Mangai, thus, spirituallses his invention of a sora script and up a new religlous order which is deslgnated as ‘Mattar Banom Dmreen’ the religion that opens the eyes and makes people good and wise . His script symbolsing the Akshara Brahma is enshrined on a hill near Marichaguda , about 20 kms . for from the nearest town of Gunupur. The image is in the shape of  ‘ OM’ in oriya character having the 24 latter , 9 numera’s ad a crest inscribed on it. During the past forty years. Mangel  has proselytized a good number of his tribeman and has established sub – canters all over the sora speaking track in Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. In many villages regular evening schools are being run to make people literate in the script. Particularly , in the padampur , Gunupur , the aran centering pround Marichaguda. Dombasara villages, the literacy has apread to a recognizable exlent and the script is, in fact, being used in intra –community communication and literary activities.
